For better or for worse, the U.S. Senate voted Tuesday to approve its $838 billion economic stimulus plan, with three moderate Republicans joining with the Democratic majority to overcome attempts by the minority party to block the legislation.
I am not sure all of the details of this bill, but I have a feeling that after it goes through negotiations, it’s going to be a bit fatter that the $838 now noted.
The good news for many of us is that this bill will help taxpayers and home buyers, as for the rest, well, let’s wait and see.
I think it would be VERY wise for all of us to continue to pray that the LORD directs what we are doing here and that the rest of the world will not have to pay the price for our gross errors and mismanagement.
I think the word for the year should be, “Stewardship” or “Fiscal Responsibility.” May we become more responsible as a people. May we stop and realize just what we have done and repent for our bad judgment as a people today!
