Is This What You Are Looking For?

1974, Broken Social Security, Debt & Immigration

Before you read this, please allow me to apologize up front. If you are an extreme conservative or liberal, there is likely something you won’t like in this article. And let me say, this is not a judgment, just a string of thoughts that kind of burned in my gut. And really, I wanted to write a short commentary on a series of things that have bothered me today. And I am just sitting hear thinking that I wish in this life we were slower to act and fast to show compassion. So, this is NOT me trying to change politics. It’s just my feelings right now. And I don’t even believe that I should change government. Really, I just want Poppa to change all of our hearts so that we could just feel HIS heart.

Does that make sense?

I was just reading an article I put below about how we are out of money and that Social Security is already broken and that it is part of what will use 93% of all tax payer money by 2020 and thinking about everything that is going on right now. I was thinking about the new information being released on how Social Security is already broke and how there already is no funds for some of us to retire later in life. (This is NOT my biggest concern since I have never banked on drawing a Social Security check). So, with that said, this little article IS NOT about my bitterness at the fact that I won’t get anything. On the contrary, I am majorly into GIVING and have proven that this year as my wife and I made windfall profits on some investments and yet still gave enough away that we received a huge tax return. I am ALL ABOUT SHARING, CARING & GIVING!

But, what I am writing about is very simple and a very overlooked issue. I read an article where even right now,  the rate of this issue is dropping drastically and I have to add here that it is due to you! Thanks for caring and having a conscience.

It’s just that from the numbers I have done, I have found statistics that are fairly good and I found that with our current problem in the US, the real fix would have been to have grown the population in such a way that we could sustain the future burden of debt.

You see, right now, if we had not had so many abortions, we would have likely had enough people to pay for the elderly. Whereas our rate dropped for births brought to term, which meant that every 2 people had less than 2 kids. They needed at least this many kids to replace themselves after they were gone.

My generation that was aborted would have filled that gap likely.

This is sad to me. And you know, the kicker is that I am not writing this to try and get us to affect change in politics, but instead to affect change in the heart of America. Why is it that 1.7 kids is seen as the ideal? Why is that any baby would be seen as unwanted? Why are we so tough on our kids? Where are the dads today?

Another thing that makes me a bit tough on the subject is that my daughter was diagnosed before birth as having a huge cyst and other indicators that said she was going to either be brain damaged or have Down Syndrome. The doctor told us “you are young and can try again…” We didn’t even have time to think about it. She told us the news and gave us her response before we even had a chance to say, “Hi, we are Dustin and Lori… What’s your name, doctor????”

And guess what, after much prayer and much time embracing the reality that we may be charged with the special duty of rearing a special needs child, (which would make us a SPECIAL set of parents), we had a baby girl who was PERFECTLY healthy and not one mark! If you know Anna, you know she’s brilliant. That’s the miracle of GOD through prayer now.

And that’s just my story. A friend of mine was born out of a rape and was adopted. He became a fantastic preacher who does work helping thousands of orphans…

And you know, that’s not my only little thing to harp on. So, please read this…

There is one other way to fix our issues with taxes and the need to fix our financial burden.

If we need to fix the missing work force and we need to grow the support base to be able to support the growing aged, then why don’t we try option number two? Why don’t we fix our policies on illegal immigrants and allow them to actually hold LEGAL JOBS, filling in the missing places of the missing generation around us?

Right now, we have tons of immigrants that are already doing jobs you don’t want to do in America and we could easily open the door to them, allow them work permits and immediately allow them to help support this country that they want to love and help!

I have tons of friends even outside this country who could use this opportunity and why not? Let’s reform laws and allow them a part in this great nation. Who knows, maybe these nations will be a part of bringing us out of our hour of despair. It’s one of the quickest fixes I could think of.

I mean really, read some of the numbers below. The numbers support the thoughts above. they may be off, but the underlying thinking is on.

At any rate, please rethink the value of EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN OUR SOCIETY. From the youngest to the immigrant, we are all FAMILY AND NEED EACH OTHER RIGHT NOW.

It’s time to realize that this American Dream we have been chasing is a nightmare if it leads to self-centered, segregated, isolationist, murderous actions.

More than ever, I feel the need to love everyone around me and to have community. I feel the value of life…

Just thoughts,

Tackling the toughest job in Washington – Apr. 27, 2010

“The commission has a two-fold mission. The first task is to recommend ways to reduce the deficit to 3% of GDP by 2015, down from the 6% currently projected. That’s a first step in making sure the growth rate in debt is “sustainable” — meaning it won’t outpace economic growth every year.

The panel’s second task is to put the federal budget on a more sustainable course long-term. Translation: Tackling Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security.

Those three programs plus interest on the nation’s debt are on track to consume 93% of all federal tax dollars collected by 2020, according to estimates from the Government Accountability Office.”

49,551,703

That’s the number of abortions since 1974.
Let’s see, that’s about: 16% of the current population at 307,006,550. If only half were at wage earning ages, then that would mean, about 24,775,851 more wage earners that would be taxed.

With 36,800,000,000 adults over the age of 65 in the US as of our LAST CENSUS, (which means it is MUCH MORE NOW with the boomers joining. Not to mention, retirement age can be: 62, which means the boomers are going to kick this number through the roof starting in two years!!!!!!!  (http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2010/tables/10s0034.pdf)
