Missions | Yireh Rivera (Leadership School & Missions with Soul Survivor Watford)

Hey Guys,

I am sending this from Yireh’s fundraising page because she is heading to school at Soul Survivor Watford, (whom I love dearly) and she will be in training, ministry with them and on mission this coming year. So, please read her story, get a heart and support!

Love you all!

Hello everyone!

A little bit about my story and why I am doing this:

It’s funny how many times we make plans without consulting God, only to be blown out of the water when we come around to ask Him if He had one and it turns out to be ten times better than what you had crafted. That’s my story in a nutshell… I’ve been making plans since I was little: I was going to be a wildlife vet that was going to study at the University of Florida for veterinary and then over to the UK for my masters in large animal/wild animals (elephants and tigers of the sort). I was then going to move to India after my great career at a zoo and work in the tiger reservations of Rajasthan.

But God had better plans. After high school he opened the door to go on scholarship to France and become fluent in French for free. He then led me to get a BA in International Studies in Washington DC. I thought I would have reached Rajasthan by probably age 35-40… I made it my sophomore year of University at 20. He allowed me to learn development and culture through different scenarios, and even opened the door to help an animal shelter while I lived there (by the way I got to go to the reservation of tigers I wanted to work).

Almost graduating with a Bachelors and thinking of going into the work force and where I would do my field work, I asked God if He had any plans once again… He did. Through a miraculous vehicle I learnt about Called to Lead in Watford England, and this is my next step.

Called to Lead is a 10-month program of Soul Survivor Watford that aims to make leaders of young adults in ministry. As part of the program I will be taking two classes a week and be involved twice a week in a ministry. In addition, we help to serve the sunday services of the church. During the summer months, Soul Survivor hosts/leads these huge festivals around England to bring worship, the scriptures, and stir up an expectation for the youth to see Jesus; as students we will be able to take part in these by serving in different areas!! This is incredible and I’m pretty stoked to be able to imagine being part of it. Finally, Mike Pilavachi and Andy Croft (Soul Survivor director and associate director, respectively) travel around the world throughout the year speaking at different events and we are encourage to partake in these.

I could not imagine mapping something better for my life. At every step God has provided and guided me where to go and the adventures have been life changing. I am only too excited for awaits next and what God will be doing in my life and others.

With that said (please contact me directly if you want to hear more details!), the costs are divided as follows (I have already paid for tuition, visa, and airfare):

·         $4,600 for costs of living (this is for the entire year)

·         $2,400 for possible trip abroad –> Im not sure yet if this will cover it given that the price for the trip is still to be fully determined, and the exchange rate fluctuates)

Many thanks for your support — and don’t forget to forward this to anyone who you think might be able to donate too!
