Dear Melissa
My inbox full of inquiries lets me know there are many people continuing to pray for Deimante, the little [now] 8-year-old girl in Lithuania whose mother sold her to many men. Deimante’s story.
The good news is that Deimante is still in the protective custody of her aunt and grandparents’. Still, Milton and I knew something was about to go down because I received a flurry of personally threatening and harassing emails to not be involved in helping Deimante anymore. Of course, we took down the crass messages from my blog and carried on with our work.
Then, the government made a surprise attack. They tried to capture Deimante by force. Both Deimante and her grandmother were injured as armed police and the masked security men—who always accompany Deimnate’s mother—wrestled to take the little girl. Deimante screamed, fought back, and pleaded not to be taken away by her mother, who Deimante cried is a “monster and liar.”
I am so proud of the Lithuania people! A strong local crowd gathered outside the home, protesting for Deimante’s defense. The police finally stood down, and the masked men whisked the mother away once again. As she left the house from where she’d tried to capture Deimante, her face was clear. The following day she showed up publically with large facial bruising.
Of course, all of this smacks of not just the evil of pedophilia which Deimante has definitely suffered, but also of how the organized crime ring paying Deimante’s mother for her is also working with the police and mock “judicial” system.
Here is a brief video you can watch documenting Deimante’s fight for safety: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ax3lwQmZye8&feature=related
And, here is HOW YOU CAN HELP SAVE HER LIFE! I ask you to not only sign this petition, but also send it to every social media outlet you have, and circulate it at work and church.
It is NOT asking for money, only 30 seconds of your time to sign a petition demanding the protection of one little girl from an organized-child-trafficking ring, and the mother who sold her to them over and over again. http://www.change.org/petitions/lithuanian-justice-and-national-security-office-stop-using-force-and-violence-against-an-8-year-old-child-deimante-kedyte
On this Easter week end, all I can pray is “Lord, roll away the stone for Deimante!”
Love, your sister rattling in the tomb of waiting for His final return!
