If you feel like you are missing out, then get involved! We have tons going on!!!!!

I am also emailing to say happy day after elections! You know, some of you out there supported and voted for Senator McCain and some others supported and voted for President Obama. Today, I want to say thank you for all of your efforts! Some of you actually worked for the campaigns and the teams. Thank you for your time. Congratulations to all of you for your efforts. All of you encouraged a record number of voters to come out and cast their ballots during this VERY HISTORIC election!

You all have done well, no matter whether you won or not. You all make me proud and I am very thankful that the LORD has given me the very special opportunity to pastor you all. I am so thankful that you allow me to do the work of reconciliation, always building bridges between unlikely groups.

YOU ALL HAVE MADE ME PROUD!

Now, as we head into this next era, it is my encouragement that we begin to pray for President-Elect Obama. He has much to do to prepare for his office and he has many things that face him. Daunting challenges lie ahead for the American people and the world for that matter. I implore each and every one of us to pray for him, his cabinet, his health, his family, his counsel, and his mind. It is time for us to rally to intercede for those that won offices last night and those that will return to finish their terms.

It is time for us to pull our America together. It is time for us to call for balance, temperance and humility!

My only consolation in times like these is that I do not look to men to answer for GOD, but for GOD to come and answer for men! Come, LORD JESUS, give us the strength to do what we must and the endurance to stand firm.

I love you much Tapestry,

Blessings!

Thought of the Week – 10-31-2008

Thought of the Week 10-31-2008

“Always in life an idea starts small, it is only a sapling idea, but the vines will come and they will try to choke your idea so it cannot grow and it will die and you will never know you had a big idea, an idea so big it could have grown thirty meters through the dark canopy of leaves and touched the face of the sky.”

Fact of the Day:
In a ritual repeated nearly every weekend for the past decade here in Colombia’s war-weary Caribbean hinterland, Luis Soriano gathered his two donkeys, Alfa and Beto, in front of his home on a recent Saturday afternoon. Sweating already under the unforgiving sun, he strapped pouches with the word “Biblioburro” painted in blue letters to the donkeys’ backs and loaded them with an eclectic cargo of books destined for people living in the small villages beyond. A whimsical riff on the bookmobile, Mr. Soriano’s Biblioburro is a small institution: one man and two donkeys. He created it out of the simple belief that the act of taking books to people who do not have them can somehow improve this impoverished region, and perhaps Colombia. [ more ]

You know, it is a small thing, but I love this idea. I think it’s time for us to do small things for one person at a time. We have too many people wondering how we can change our world, our economy, our nation, our government, our whatever!

Where are the people that simply wonder, “Hmmmm, how can I change my neighbor’s perspective?” I am all for changing people’s perspective. For seeing people smile. For helping one person at a time. And I believe that we all can make a world of difference to at least one person next to us every week!

I challenge us to!

Have a great weekend! And don’t forget to vote next week and change your clock on Sunday. BOTH ARE EQUALLY IMPORTANT! Hahahaha!
