Are You ready to Be Poured Out… Part 2 | Oswald Chambers

I am already being poured out as a drink offering . . . -2 Timothy 4:6

Are you ready to be poured out as an offering? It is an act of your will, not your emotions. Tell God you are ready to be offered as a sacrifice for Him. Then accept the consequences as they come, without any complaints, in spite of what God may send your way. God sends you through a crisis in private, where no other person can help you. From the outside your life may appear to be the same, but the difference is taking place in your will. Once you have experienced the crisis in your will, you will take no thought of the cost when it begins to affect you externally. If you don't deal with God on the level of your will first, the result will be only to arouse sympathy for yourself.

"Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar" (Psalm 118:27). You must be willing to be placed on the altar and go through the fire; willing to experience what the altar represents-burning, purification, and separation for only one purpose-the elimination of every desire and affection not grounded in or directed toward God. But you don't eliminate it, God does. You "bind the sacrifice . . . to the horns of the altar" and see to it that you don't wallow in self-pity once the fire begins. After you have gone through the fire, there will be nothing that will be able to trouble or depress you. When another crisis arises, you will realize that things cannot touch you as they used to do. What fire lies ahead in your life?

Tell God you are ready to be poured out as an offering, and God will prove Himself to be all you ever dreamed He would b

Greetings from David Diroll

Dear Tapestry family, thank you for your continued prayer and encouragement! As I follow the call of God in the nations, God continues to remind me of my time with the Tapestry family – what a true blessing it is to have you in my life. I am still serving in Cyprus, and soon will be traveling to both Israel and Ethiopia. As I travel, our team will be reaching out to many people groups – three main groups found in both of those countries are Jewish people, Muslims, and those in the Church. We long for the glory of God to be seen around the world. If you would like to partner with me in this journey, I am still believing for $2,900 to come in by April 1st. If you would like to make a tax-deductable donation please visit http://gatewaysbeyond.org/donate.php or send checks payable to "Gateways Beyond International", with a  note designating it towards "David Diroll" – to P.O. If you are not enrolled in FPU but kinda sorta wish you were or want to possibly learn more… Dave Ramsey has given an open invitation to any of you to please join us this Sunday at 2pm. The message is too important not to check out.

Still using credit cards? Dump them. Haven’t made a budget yet? Get started now! Remember, if you want to win with money then you’ve got to do things you’ve never done before. It’s time for a change!

not MY gift…

Evangelism & intercession are two great examples of spiritual gifts I do not have. I do not experience an incontrollable urge to get on my knees and pray for hours on end. My knees much prefer to be stretched out on the recliner. In the same way I do not experience an indescribable burning in my gut or tearing in my heart that requires me to pray. I just don't. These are the marks of an intercessor.

I do not turn every conversation to salvation. I do not teach salvation every time I teach. When I talk to people casually I usually start off with "HI my name is Sage," and not "Hi, do you know Jesus?" I do not have a supernatural gifting of evangelism. Just one of those things.

Even if we take the gift of evangelism to talk about an ability rather than an attitude, I've met evangelists. These are the guys and girls who open their mouths to talk about the weather and have hordes of people rushing to accept Christ. I'm not that guy.

And I'm willing to bet that you aren't that person either. Yet, we are called to it.

In much the same way that David was not a warrior (he was a king and worshiper), he was called to fight Goliath.

Paul was not an intercessor (he was an apostle, an evangelist, and a pastor) yet he prayed continually.

Isaiah was not a prophet – he was a priest, a man dedicated to the worship of God who was given the chance to be a prophet. And given the chance he said "Hineini. Shlah li." "Here I am. Send me."

I am not an evangelist, but I have the opportunity to be one. I am called to it.

I am not an intercessor, but I have the opportunity to be one. I am called to it.

And so are you.

I told the Lord to send me a long time ago, but somehow managed to lose track of my marching orders. So I'm picking it back up today and heading out. "Hineini Adonai. Shlah Li." Here I am Lord. Send me.

You coming?

The Impoverished Life of Christ | Oswald Chambers

Where then do You get that living water? -John 4:11

"The well is deep"- and even a great deal deeper than the Samaritan woman knew! (John 4:11). Think of the depths of human nature and human life; think of the depth of the "wells" in you. Have you been limiting, or impoverishing, the ministry of Jesus to the point that He is unable to work in your life? Suppose that you have a deep "well" of hurt and trouble inside your heart, and Jesus comes and says to you, "Let not your heart be troubled . . ." (John 14:1). Would your response be to shrug your shoulders and say, "But, Lord, the well is too deep, and even You can't draw up quietness and comfort out of it." Actually, that is correct. Jesus doesn't bring anything up from the wells of human nature- He brings them down from above. We limit the Holy One of Israel by remembering only what we have allowed Him to do for us in the past, and also by saying, "Of course, I cannot expect God to do this particular thing." The thing that approaches the very limits of His power is the very thing we as disciples of Jesus ought to believe He will do. We impoverish and weaken His ministry in us the moment we forget He is almighty. The impoverishment is in us, not in Him. We will come to Jesus for Him to be our comforter or our sympathizer, but we refrain from approaching Him as our Almighty God.

The reason some of us are such poor examples of Christianity is that we have failed to recognize that Christ is almighty. We have Christian attributes and experiences, but there is no abandonment or surrender to Jesus Christ. When we get into difficult circumstances, we impoverish His ministry by saying, "Of course, He can't do anything about this." We struggle to reach the bottom of our own well, trying to get water for ourselves. Beware of sitting back, and saying, "It can't be done." You will know it can be done if you will look to Jesus. The well of your incompleteness runs deep, but make the effort to look away from yourself and to look toward Him.

Do You Really Love Him? | Oswald Chambers

She has done a good work for Me -Mark 14:6

If what we call love doesn't take us beyond ourselves, it is not really love. If we have the idea that love is characterized as cautious, wise, sensible, shrewd, and never taken to extremes, we have missed the true meaning. This may describe affection and it may bring us a warm feeling, but it is not a true and accurate description of love.

Have you ever been driven to do something for God not because you felt that it was useful or your duty to do so, or that there was anything in it for you, but simply because you love Him? Have you ever realized that you can give things to God that are of value to Him? Or are you just sitting around daydreaming about the greatness of His redemption, while neglecting all the things you could be doing for Him? I'm not referring to works which could be regarded as divine and miraculous, but ordinary, simple human things- things which would be evidence to God that you are totally surrendered to Him. Have you ever created what Mary of Bethany created in the heart of the Lord Jesus? "She has done a good work for Me."

There are times when it seems as if God watches to see if we will give Him even small gifts of surrender, just to show how genuine our love is for Him. To be surrendered to God is of more value than our personal holiness. Concern over our personal holiness causes us to focus our eyes on ourselves, and we become overly concerned about the way we walk and talk and look, out of fear of offending God. ". . . but perfect love casts out fear . . ." once we are surrendered to God (1 John 4:18). We should quit asking ourselves, "Am I of any use?" and accept the truth that we really are not of much use to Him. The issue is never of being of use, but of being of value to God Himself. Once we are totally surrendered to God, He will work through us all the time.

Dream big…no dream bigger…bigger

At a evangelism training workshop that only five people attended, the teacher started off by asking "how many people do you want to save?" He got the following answers…. Or She got the following answers…. I'm not sure who the teacher was but that's beside the point. The five people attending gave the following answers.

One
Five
Three
A dozen
A million

Now I have a certain level of intense respect and admiration for the person who said "one." That person came to this training because there was one specific person that he/she (I only heard the story once ok? Give me a break) wanted to bring to Christ. I feel that. I get that.

But you have to love the weirdo who is in a class with five people saying he wants to personally see a million people won to Christ. Now that's dreaming big. That's fishing with a net. That's a mustard seed moving a mountain. And what's especially awesome about this one is that it never occurred to him (yes it's a "him" and I've met him) that God wouldn't step in to make it happen. It never occurred to him to take a step back from this big dream that he just blurted out for no reason he could understand even when the others just kind of laughed off his dream as youthful enthusiasm.

But aren't we supposed to be childlike? Aren't we supposed to come to the father with childlike faith? Doesn't that include coming to him and saying things like "Hey Papa? When will the president and his cabinet come to service?" Not, "can you bring him" not "could you please.." but "when."

When will your spirit bring revival?

When will your spirit bring awakening?

When will we see a million people saved in a single month?

In a week?

In a day?

Now that's dreaming big.
