Hello Everyone. We have moved to new sites. We are now located in a couple of different places.

1. PD’s Yahoo 360 Page: 360.yahoo.com/thetapestrychurch
2. The Tapestry Chruch Page: www.tapestrychurch.net or www.tapestrychurch.net
3. The Tapestry Conversation Page (Our Sunday Talks): tapestryconversation.blogspot.com
4. The Writings: tapestrychurch.blogspot.com

Please come and feel welcome to be a part of our continuing
conversation. We hate to leave the realm of xanga and we may sometime
return. It’s just that our website is its own blog and now, it also has
an RSS feed, so we don’t need to have the xanga page any longer. So, it
has been wonderful being a part, we hope to continue this talk in
another time and another place…

The Direction of Thought: the beginnings of the flood

Welcome to the bright place known as my mind. I’ve cleaned it out and filled it full of goodness and deep thoughts for all to enjoy. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired by my growth and life improvements and so be inspired to advance your own life. The Tapestry is my vine and, with its support, there is no way I can fail! My mission is to follow the truth and lead others towards him, for he promises life and blessings to all those who love and have faith in god, from now until the end of time.

The New Focus

Peter Yim and I are going to be starting a new thing. The writings will now exist to stir conversation on mystical Christian ideas. peter is the one with all the questions. I don’t have answers, I am going to discuss. Your place is to comment. We believe that with the entire community envolved, we are going to get some great direction.

So, let’s start the conversation and see what happens.

“Friends & Family”

The delimma is how do we make people feel welcome and at the same time, have the close nit community we need that strives for purity and right relationships with God and others? The whole idea of members and guests is one that a club or business might use. The membership term from the Scriptures I find is the term used for a part of a human body. We instead, might as well call the “members,” “the legs” or”the arms.” But the word member was never meant to be used in a way that denoted the ones that were “in” or “out.” Jesus always went to the disenfranchised, spent time with the outcast and stopped to talk with the unlovelies. Yet, today, we write into our bylaws and our programs a way to separate and divide.

Out of much prayer, we have come to the terms “friends” and “family.” And if it were not for the fact that we live in a place where terms are required for our actual government documents and such, we would probably have no terms. This, of course would and still probably will lead to some of our brothers and sisters in other churches to call us “friends of sinners.” But isn’t that perfect? That is what Jesus was called!

Friends: The ones who have come to Journey alongside us, not necessarily joining the story of God.

Family: Those who have forsaken their own story for the story of God. And as in doing such have now chosen Jesus as their Master and thus have now apprenticed themselves to Him.

These are a few thoughts, as I still toy with these concepts, I am never finished exploring and discovering.

One more thought: “Treat friends as if they were family and treat family as if they were your friends.”

-A thought my father-in-law had to add to the discussion as we discussed friends and family.

My Birthday

Today is my 30th birthday! As I spend a few minutes recounting the past three decades of life, I have come up with one belief. The times I spent for myself were unmemorable, the times I spent on others, profitable. The moments used in simple fun were waste without cause, yet the moments I thought wasted on a cause were gain. Every lost second spent in adventure was only a gained memory that I must pass on, so that I might bless the next. All in all, life spent on self is intolerable, but life for others, a treasure!

-My big thought for the day. I will be back with more. Welcome to my online secret diaries.

A Verse for Your Week! | pd

Colossians 2:2-6 (MSG)

2 I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God's great mystery. 3 All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we've been shown the mystery! 4 I'm telling you this because I don't want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or "the Secret." 5 I'm a long way off, true, and you may never lay eyes on me, but believe me, I'm on your side, right beside you. I am delighted to hear of the careful and orderly ways you conduct your affairs, and impressed with the solid substance of your faith in Christ. 6 My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you've been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him.

Tapestry 7th Anniversary Videos

Hey Guys,

This year, the Tapestry is 7 YEARS OLD!!!! And that is a very SIGNIFICANT number. So, I was thinking that something that would be REALLY COOL is if we did videos for this coming Tapestry Year. And what I wanted to invite anyone and everyone to do from around the world wherever you are is to make a quick video about what the Tapestry has meant to you and throw it up on Youtube and send me the link. OR throw it on Facebook and tag me in it. Or simply send it to us via email or other means. ANYONE can participate. Whether it is your direct experience or online experience, we would love to hear it. Seriously, one of the most encouraging long-distance events that ever happened was the person that found one of our balloon launch balloons in the UK! TRUE STORY!

So, we want to share more stories and stir more faith and here is why. Many of you have had wonderful experiences with the community here and it is always so encouraging to hear from everyone, so you are welcome to send:

1 – a story

2 – a thought or experience

3 – a word of encouragement

4 – or even a specific event that happened

5 – also, we would love to hear how you found the Tapestry or it found you and more.

The ones that really tug at our hearts will be added to a new Tapestry Welcome video we will be doing and will be featured on our new website coming out this year.

At any rate, let’s see what you’ve got.

Record your videos now and share what GOD has done through any and all of your friends at the Tapestry.

Blessings!

pd
