Preparing with Prayer

As you prepare your heart to be set on fire at the ACTIVAT3 Conference in a few short weeks, we want to encourage you to DIG IN and really spiritually prepare before coming. There are specific things we can be doing before we come together that will only make the anticipation higher and the expectancy stronger.

Some things I would recommend:
1 – Take time to reflect and ask Poppa if there are things HE would like to change about you.
2 – Stop and think about the last time you were really on Fire for GOD and ask GOD to help you rejoin HIM there.
3 – Confess anything unconfessed not just to GOD, but to an accountability partner who will push you forward in your life and maturity.
4 – Spend some time really listening to GOD. Ask HIM to let you take part in HIS daily adventures. Tell HIM that you are available all day long for anything HE wants to do.
5 – Try reading this teaching on prayer: Personal Prayer Development
6 – Check out the Wimber section of my blog: Teachings & Articles | John Wimber & Foundational Teachings by John Wimber for church plants

And spend time specifically praying for GOD to move at this event and throughout our region and our churches. We need Jesus to come and with this many people coming together to seek GOD’s face, to learn about the Kingdom and how to do the stuff and then to go out into outreach, there is a great likelihood that this area will have an experience it has not had in many years. Revival.

Don’t you long inside for the courts of the LORD? Don’t you ache for something more?
Don’t you burn for passion to take your life over?
Don’t you wish there was more to life?

There is!
Come burn with us!
Come let GOD’s Furious Love pour over you…

Blessings!

Prayer has begun | Vineyard Pastors Pray!

Something pretty awesome is happening as we head into this event now. Vineyard Pastors from all over the US have been connecting with us and saying that they are praying for this event. This is NO SMALL THING! From TN to CA, it seems there is a stirring around the Vineyard and the stories we are hearing of similar revival and passion being stirred up in churches is amazing.

It seems like there is no end to what GOD is doing. Once I get a more full picture, I will start posting some of their encouraging words here along with links to their churches.

Let’s keep the prayer coming, the unity growing and the passion stirring.

Blessings!

Drawing on the Grace of GOD -NOW | Oswald Chambers

We . . . plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain -2 Corinthians 6:1

The grace you had yesterday will not be sufficient for today. Grace is the overflowing favor of God, and you can always count on it being available to draw upon as needed. ". . . in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses"- that is where our patience is tested (2 Corinthians 6:4). Are you failing to rely on the grace of God there? Are you saying to yourself, "Oh well, I won't count this time"? It is not a question of praying and asking God to help you- it is taking the grace of God now. We tend to make prayer the preparation for our service, yet it is never that in the Bible. Prayer is the practice of drawing on the grace of God. Don't say, "I will endure this until I can get away and pray." Pray now – draw on the grace of God in your moment of need. Prayer is the most normal and useful thing; it is not simply a reflex action of your devotion to God. We are very slow to learn to draw on God's grace through prayer.

". . . in stripes, in imprisonments, in tumults, in labors . . ." (2 Corinthians 6:5)- in all these things, display in your life a drawing on the grace of God, which will show evidence to yourself and to others that you are a miracle of His. Draw on His grace now, not later. The primary word in the spiritual vocabulary is now. Let circumstances take you where they will, but keep drawing on the grace of God in whatever condition you may find yourself. One of the greatest proofs that you are drawing on the grace of God is that you can be totally humiliated before others without displaying even the slightest trace of anything but His grace.

". . . having nothing . . . ." Never hold anything in reserve. Pour yourself out, giving the best that you have, and always be poor. Never be diplomatic and careful with the treasure God gives you. ". . . and yet possessing all things"- this is poverty triumphant (2 Corinthians 6:10).

Prophetic Word and Reminder

A Word from Robby Dawkins to Vineyard Pastors that Spoke to me…

d

Dustin Hedrick

Senior Pastor

Vineyard Pastors and Leaders,

This is just a quick follow up to the first e-mail I sent out on the Empowered Conference that we are doing here at my church in Aurora, IL. But first I would like to share something.

I believe this is one of the most critical times for the Vineyard movement. Years ago while I was watching "Lord of the Rings" I was moved beyond words when I saw the scene of Gandalf entering in to confront King Théoden. As you saw this powerful deliverance (as some have described it) take place I had the strong sense that we were in the same place. I heard the Lord say to me "as quickly as that image of Gandalf broke through the veil that held Théoden captive, so I can break through the veil that has waxed over my leaders." God is calling us out of that place of being waxed over and back into that place of being covered with "the Honey" (a word picture Wimber used to use).

The Lord spoke to me a few weeks ago while having a devotional time. I heard Him say, "Many are asking who will lead us? Who will be our next director and where will they take us?" I then heard Him say, "Have I moved away? No! Many are praying in their closets as individuals but I am calling you to call a Solemn Assembly; A collective time of praying and fasting together. Not so that the Vineyard will grow larger, but that I would grow larger in my Vineyard." I have submitted that word to the Vineyard leaders.

I think most everyone would agree that there has been a shift in focus that has occurred over the past 13+ years. I believe God is calling us back to that place where we would meet Him in His Presence. In my heart I know the Vineyard has been called to more than a "Church Planting Movement", I believe God originally called us to be a "People of the Presence Movement". The focus years ago on the Father’s Heart and Catch the Fire themes that were so rich for us have since shifted to our back ground rather than staying in our forefront. As I have traveled the country and world responding to the requests of Pastors to come and help stir the presence in their churches again as well as birth a fresh passion for Power Evangelism, I see people who long for us to return to "the main and the plain" and to what we have known the Vineyard was suppose to be.

I believe the Empowered Conference is about that. This is a conference where we will experience the Presence in a fresh way and not only train you for your church seeing and doing more of the stuff, but put it into practice both in the meetings and out on the streets. John Wimber used to talk about the Vineyard not just being a movement of theoreticians but also practitioners of the Kingdom. This conference will endeavor to empower us to see that happen. We will also be focusing on shifting the culture of your church to see more Power operating in your church as well as Power Evangelism taking place in a naturally Supernatural way.

I am excited to inform you that we have been able to have some additional speakers for our line-up at the end of August. At this point Happy & Diane Leman, Steve Nicholson, J Leman, Dave Fredrick and Ed Loughran will be doing teaching breakout sessions and I will be speaking in our sessions. Casey Corum has agreed to lead worship for us as well. We only have space for and the ability to accommodate outreaches for 100 pastor and leaders. Because of this it is first come first serve.

Process of Purpose | Oswald Chambers

He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side . . . -Mark 6:45

We tend to think that if Jesus Christ compels us to do something and we are obedient to Him, He will lead us to great success. We should never have the thought that our dreams of success are God's purpose for us. In fact, His purpose may be exactly the opposite. We have the idea that God is leading us toward a particular end or a desired goal, but He is not. The question of whether or not we arrive at a particular goal is of little importance, and reaching it becomes merely an episode along the way. What we see as only the process of reaching a particular end, God sees as the goal itself.

What is my vision of God's purpose for me? Whatever it may be, His purpose is for me to depend on Him and on His power now. If I can stay calm, faithful, and unconfused while in the middle of the turmoil of life, the goal of the purpose of God is being accomplished in me. God is not working toward a particular finish- His purpose is the process itself. What He desires for me is that I see "Him walking on the sea" with no shore, no success, nor goal in sight, but simply having the absolute certainty that everything is all right because I see "Him walking on the sea" (Mark 6:49). It is the process, not the outcome, that is glorifying to God.

God's training is for now, not later. His purpose is for this very minute, not for some time in the future. We have nothing to do with what will follow our obedience, and we are wrong to concern ourselves with it. What people call preparation, God sees as the goal itself.

God's purpose is to enable me to see that He can walk on the storms of my life right now. If we have a further goal in mind, we are not paying enough attention to the present time. However, if we realize that moment-by-moment obedience is the goal, then each moment as it comes is precious.

The ACTIVAT3 Conference Location is GREAT and SO ARE THE PEOPLE!!!!!

Hey Guys,

I just went on the walkthrough with Jon, Melly and Daeho and I have to tell you… I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!!! It is going to be so much fun to be with you guys there worshiping Jesus and learning about the Kingdom together. I know that so many of us are in so many different places right now and a lot of us face trials, issues, struggles and distractions, but this is truly going to be a time where we can come away and worship and experience GOD together and then go give it away!

I am so blessed and encouraged after hanging out with the staff at Chevy Chase Baptist where we are meeting for this event. WHAT AMAZINGLY PRECIOUS hearted people! You should hear their stories of how they brought this building back! The church was closed 14 years ago when they came and now it is a living, breathing, spirit filled space. I love the way it feels. And it is SO BEAUTIFUL!

I love the heartbeat of their leadership. I LOVE JESUS more for having met Mrs. Maureen! She is the pastor’s wife, works the office and is the Minister of Music or Worship Leader. SHE IS AWESOME! Hearing her story just lit me up!

So, I just wanted to give you an update and let you know that everything is going well for this and you all are going to LOVE IT! They have so many other churches and ministries there too. There is the Baptist Church that meets at 1pm, they have SOZO DC, there are the Healing Rooms and they have the Gate DC, (a church), as well as this cool “Washington Worships” weekend event that I want to start signing up for. Worship teams can sign up for one of the watches and they go through Friday night and all day Saturday! HOW COOL IS THAT?

So, this space is great AND THESE NEW FRIENDS ARE GREAT! I LOVE THEM! WOW! Parking may be interesting, but we can always take the Red Line!

Love you guys!

Blessings!
