Is This What You Are Looking For?

FW: Tapestry Sunday Night

Hey Everyone,

Here is an email from Patrick about “TSN” or our Tapestry Sunday Night meeting this week. Read below and come if you feel inclined. This is a GREAT preview to the conference in a few weeks.

And it is great fellowship.

Blessings!

Good Day Everyone!

This is a reminder that we’re gonna meet at Jon’s at 5pm for some training, then going out to pray!

Last week was pretty crazy.  We saw every confirming word during prayer and prayed for people at RIO.  Who knows where God will take us this Sunday.

As always, if this seems a bit overwhelming, you can stay for PD’s training and eat with us then part ways, but you’ll be missing out on some awesome things God is doing in our community.  (no pressure)

Also, we might have some people at other churches come and be apart of this, so if you have friends interested, or you have friends you want interested, bring them out!!

Meeting at 550 Winding Rose Drive, Rockville MD & 5pm.

Just a Thought | An OLD Emaill Review from pd

Hey Guys,

I just got a note from Yireh reminding me of one of the old emails I sent out a year ago. It is really pretty good and encouraged me today, which is funny since often I don’t reread my own stuff. However, I wanted to forward the chain back to all of us and say that this is a great reread! 😉

Have a great week!

Dustin Hedrick

Lead Pastor

NOTE FROM YIREH:

Hey PD,

Re-reading some of the old stuff and just wanted to encourage you today how much it continues to speak to me. Keep at it pastor, the sheep are growing!

Lots of love,

YRM

PD’s OLD EMAIL:

Hey Guys,

I will be sending a more formal Thread email later about a topic that Devin has encouraged me to review. It will be about “De-Teching” & being a physical minimalist in order to be a spiritual giant.

But, before I send that, I came across this message by Henry Blackaby and wanted to send it today. I wanted to remind us to every time we read Scripture, stop and ask Poppa to speak to us. Every time we hear a sermon, ask Poppa to speak to us personally about it. And I mean, literally stopping before we listen, read or whatever and say, “Poppa, please speak to me and apply this to my life…”

And then just during the listening or reading, literally focusing in and asking yourself over and over during the exercise, “How does this apply to me?”

If we do that and then journal our results, I think we would be amazed to see what Poppa speaks. We can even do this with news, current events and/or experiences in our day to day lives. For instance, “Jesus, what are you doing in Haiti right now and how can I help You?”

You get it? I mean, you may not always find relevance, but at least you can keep the conversation with God the Father, Jesus and Spirit open and available. It may help you even make better sense out of the challenges and trials in life. And you know, I have found it is fun to connect the dots. It’s like life is a huge puzzle and I am always trying to put the pieces together. I mean, the truth is that EVERYTHING has a purpose. I just have to see what that purpose is and maximize the potential.

Hope that makes sense…

Blessings!

The Penetrating Word of God

Day-by-Day

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb 4:12)

Does God’s word ever cause you discomfort? When you read the Bible does what you read make you uneasy? Do you find when you listen to sermons, that the Scripture seems aimed directly at you? You are experiencing the reality that the word of God is alive and can read your thoughts and judge your intentions.

When God’s word speaks to you it is always for a purpose. God knows your heart and knows what you need to do to bring your life into conformity to Christ. If you have a problem with sinful talk, the word that comes to you will address the tongue. If you are struggling to forgive, God’s word will confront you with His standard for forgiveness. If pride has a stronghold in your life, God’s word will speak to you about humility. Whatever sin needs addressing, you will find you are confronted by God’s word on the matter.

One way you can escape the discomfort of conviction is to avoid hearing God speak to you. You may neglect reading your Bible and stay away from places where it is taught. You may avoid those whom you know will uphold the truths of Scripture. The best response, however, is to pray as the psalmist did: “Search me, O God, and know my heart” (Ps. 139:23). Regularly allow the word of God to wash over you and find any sin or impurity (Eph. 5:26). Always make the connection between your life and what God is saying to you through His word. Make a habit of taking every word from God seriously, knowing that it is able to judge your heart and mind.

 H Blackaby

Please Pray for Norway…

I did not mention it this weekend at the service, however, let us PLEASE PRAY for Norway. This atrocious act against primarily young people is not just horrible in its happening, but it breaks my heart for the sheer cold, calculated way this “Breivik” monster acted. It seems that always as GOD begins a move to bring people back to HIMSELF, the enemies of all that is good rear their ugly heads. We live in a time and era where morals are twisted and/or lost mostly in the name of “good.”

It is even more important now than ever that we as believers cling to and show the LIGHT OF JESUS to the world. So, let us pray.

let’s pray for:

1 – those that have lost loved ones

2 – for a nation that is grieving

3 – for GOD to help us to be salt and light at this time of great uncertainty both there in Norway and around the world

4 – for a softening of people’s hearts especially extremists from every background and culture

5 – for peace and unity

6 – and lastly for GOD to somehow get glory instead of all the focus being on this atrocity

Whatever you do, as a joint citizen of the earth right now, allow yourself some compassion and pray for these as if it were your own child that was lost. My heart aches today.

Let us pray!

The Submission of a Believer | Oswald Chambers

You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am -John 13:13

Our Lord never insists on having authority over us. He never says, "You will submit to me." No, He leaves us perfectly free to choose- so free, in fact, that we can spit in His face or we can put Him to death, as others have done; and yet He will never say a word. But once His life has been created in me through His redemption, I instantly recognize His right to absolute authority over me. It is a complete and effective domination, in which I acknowledge that "You are worthy, O Lord . . ." (Revelation 4:11). It is simply the unworthiness within me that refuses to bow down or to submit to one who is worthy. When I meet someone who is more holy than myself, and I don't recognize his worthiness, nor obey his instructions for me, it is a sign of my own unworthiness being revealed. God teaches us by using these people who are a little better than we are; not better intellectually, but more holy. And He continues to do so until we willingly submit. Then the whole attitude of our life is one of obedience to Him.

If our Lord insisted on our obedience, He would simply become a taskmaster and cease to have any real authority. He never insists on obedience, but when we truly see Him we will instantly obey Him. Then He is easily Lord of our life, and we live in adoration of Him from morning till night. The level of my growth in grace is revealed by the way I look at obedience. We should have a much higher view of the word obedience, rescuing it from the mire of the world. Obedience is only possible between people who are equals in their relationship to each other; like the relationship between father and son, not that between master and servant. Jesus showed this relationship by saying, "I and My Father are one" (John 10:30). ". . . though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered" (Hebrews 5:8). The Son was obedient as our Redeemer, because He was the Son, not in order to become God's Son.

Spiritual Honor & Duty | Oswald Chambers

I am a debtor both to Greeks and to barbarians . . . -Romans 1:14

Paul was overwhelmed with the sense of his indebtedness to Jesus Christ, and he spent his life to express it. The greatest inspiration in Paul's life was his view of Jesus Christ as his spiritual creditor. Do I feel that same sense of indebtedness to Christ regarding every unsaved soul? As a saint, my life's spiritual honor and duty is to fulfill my debt to Christ in relation to these lost souls. Every tiny bit of my life that has value I owe to the redemption of Jesus Christ. Am I doing anything to enable Him to bring His redemption into evident reality in the lives of others? I will only be able to do this as the Spirit of God works into me this sense of indebtedness.

I am not a superior person among other people- I am a bondservant of the Lord Jesus. Paul said, ". . . you are not your own . . . you were bought at a price . . ." (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Paul sold himself to Jesus Christ and he said, in effect, "I am a debtor to everyone on the face of the earth because of the gospel of Jesus; I am free only that I may be an absolute bondservant of His." That is the characteristic of a Christian's life once this level of spiritual honor and duty becomes real. Quit praying about yourself and spend your life for the sake of others as the bondservant of Jesus. That is the true meaning of being broken bread and poured-out wine in real life.

Furious Love Image

The Furious Love Film on partial on YouTube is Here:
Born to missionary parents in Japan, Robby had an early start in ministry. In his father’s church he began a children’s ministry at the age of 12, and became the youth minister at 16 years old. Robby says, “I knew from a young age that God had called me into ministry. My parents say that from the age of 2, I told people that I would grow up and be a missionary.” In many ways that has been the case in Robby’s life.
Robby and his wife, Angie, married in 1992, have pastored the Vineyard Church of Aurora, IL since 1996. They feel God called them to plant in a poor urban community, and continually use “power evangelism” to gather for the church. They estimate that over 50% of current attenders have come to Christ at the Vineyard Aurora, and that almost ¾ of those have come through “power” encounters.
“In addition to starting and pastoring this church, God has called me for the purpose of building up and equipping the local church with power tools for harvesting,” Robby shares. These “power tools” are prophetic ministry, healing, ministry of the presence of God, and deliverance from demonic power. Robby loves to tell literally hundreds of stories of his personal experiences, which include God using him and others he has mentored through the years to see God’s Kingdom “break in” with signs and wonders.
Having been in over 30 countries around the world, God has used him to help build the church internationally as well. He has ministered in many Muslim countries and in 2 of the top 10 most dangerous countries according to Voice of the Martyrs magazine
