Facebook, Flickr, or Picasa Photo Sets

Hey Guys,

 

If you have any photo sets of the church events over the years from Facebook, Flickr, or Picasa and you have never shared them directly with me, please email me and let me know. I am scouting ALL pictures and videos of the Tapestry over the years and your sharing will help us build our brand new website’s online scrapbook area.

 

So, email me and simply tell me whether you have some or not and on what social network you have them stored. I will do the rest.

 

Trust me, you want to be a part of this.

 

PS, if you have not already done a video for the Tapestry’s 7th year anniversary telling your story, DO IT NOW!

 

The rules are:

1 – You video yourself with your phone camera or another easy way.

2 – You email the video, a link to the posting on Youtube OR give me a disk with it on it.

3 – The video consists of YOUR STORY about the Tapestry. It can be about:

                A – Your finding the Tapestry.

                B – The experience that meant the most to you at the Tapestry.

                C – A life changing experience you had with the Tapestry.

                D – A story about someone that affected you in the Tapestry community.

 

It does not matter if you are currently with the Tapestry or if you have moved to another area. We want ALL OUR stories to be shared. These stories will be shared among our community and are totally a blessing to all!!!!!

Voice of the Apostles & Tapestry Annual Churchwide Retreat 2011

Hey Guys,

 

We are turning the Voice of the Apostles Conference this Fall 2011 into a hybrid of our annual church retreat. It is going to be in Lancaster, PA and will be a great time. It is midweek thru weekend-long and diehards can go up for the entire week while a second group could go up for the weekend.

This is going to be a great conference and there are tons of cool things to do around Lancaster for some who may want to take some time and see around the area as well. It will be fun to have a faith filled time as a family!

 

Since we are sensitive to families’, children’s and financial needs, DO NOT let the dates or prices upset you. For families that go or for others that want to be together in the area for the weekend and may not want to or be financially able to attend VOA or have children, we will plan FAMILY FRIENDLY and CHILDREN friendly alternative options during our stay.

 

WE WILL HAVE SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!

Early Bird Registration:

$125 per person

$225 per married couple

$110 per person for groups of 10 or more

 

Regular Registration:

Meggie was saying that she was in the overflow room last year and she wanted to AVOID being stuck in the overflow again! It is worth being inside. Some folks are welcome to stay at Meggie’s parents and others can use the local lodging.

Just a Rminder! Empowered Evangelism Conference with Robby Dawkins

Empowered Evangelism Conference with Robby Dawkins AUGUST 12-14 The Tapestry Church www.tapestrychurch.com

That's right. He is coming to the Tapestry and will be doing a conference with us the weekend of August 12-14, 2011. We still have not finally selected the location, however, things are heating up and people are contacting from outside the church and area that are interested in coming and asking about details. So, if you are planning on coming, you need to RSVP ASAP. Email Lori at lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org. We are now expecting possibly 200 people or more, so knowing if you are going to be a part is IMPORTANT since we need to arrange for space. It will start Friday night at 7pm and will be all day Saturday with Robby being at the Tapestry Sunday morning.

We will have MUCH more on the Tapestry website within the week.

Born to missionary parents in Japan, Robby had an early start in ministry. In his father's church he began a children's ministry at the age of 12, and became the youth minister at 16 years old. Robby says, "I knew from a young age that God had called me into ministry. My parents say that from the age of 2, I told people that I would grow up and be a missionary." In many ways that has been the case in Robby's life.

Robby and his wife, Angie, married in 1992, have pastored the Vineyard Church of Aurora, IL since 1996. They feel God called them to plant in a poor urban community, and continually use "power evangelism" to gather for the church. They estimate that over 50% of current attenders have come to Christ at the Vineyard Aurora, and that almost ¾ of those have come through "power" encounters.

"In addition to starting and pastoring this church, God has called me for the purpose of building up and equipping the local church with power tools for harvesting," Robby shares. These "power tools" are prophetic ministry, healing, ministry of the presence of God, and deliverance from demonic power. Robby loves to tell literally hundreds of stories of his personal experiences, which include God using him and others he has mentored through the years to see God's Kingdom "break in" with signs and wonders.

Having been in over 30 countries around the world, God has used him to help build the church internationally as well. He has ministered in many Muslim countries and in 2 of the top 10 most dangerous countries according to Voice of the Martyrs magazine.

Kiddos’ volunteers needed

We are splitting our one kiddos class into 3! Our very patient 8 year old is tired of hanging out with the 3 year olds and our babies are starting to discover their voices! To pull this off right each Sunday we need 2 people to help with the babies. 2 people to help with our 2-5 year olds and 1 person to help with the 6-10 year olds. Please see the sign up sheet in the hall and/or email lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org

 

Help needed!

Kevin and Jen Sorrentino are asking for your skills, strength and time. They are preparing to become a foster parents to Jen’s niece and nephew. In order to be able house everyone comfortably, they need to work on their basement and they would welcome your help. 4th of July PRAYER & POTLUCK PICNIC in the PARK

We are getting together at 5 pm at Newport Mill Park. It will be a great time of fellowship and outreach. We will be offering prayer to anyone who may need it and to many who don't realize they do. Don't forget to bring a blanket to sit on and a covered dish enough to feed your family plus one.  

(you may have to walk a few blocks because they will block off the streets surrounding the park)
 
So, come on out and join the fun!
If you miss out, it is NOT OUR FAULT!!!!!

Come have fun, fellowship and do outreach all at the same time!

Robby Dawkins is Coming!

Hey Guys,

 

It is true, we made the calendar for Robby Dawkins and he is coming from August 12-14, 2011.

So, here is the deal. I need HELP!

 

I need the following for anyone that is interested:

1 – Someone who can be the contact person for the church. (They will take calls and fill people in on details).

2 – Someone who can update the Google calendar and help me with blast emails and such for communications.

3 – Another person to help me find the location to have this. (Daeho, can we see if Montgomery County has a facility that has stadium style seating for this? An auditorium somewhere?) And we need to check with a few more churches. I am contacting a few now.

4 – Someone to help with welcome and greeting the day of.

5 – Someone to help me organize outreach areas for ministry time on Saturday.

6 – Someone who can help me by overseeing the ministry team. (I know we have a team, but we will have possibly other churches to add to it and train, so I have completed the training and need to get it out to you on CDROM and then as well, we need to get name badges done for both this and church).

7 – Someone to oversee follow-up

8 – Someone over worship

 

And then if there is anything I missed, I need some of you to tell me.

So, please email Lori and/or I and let us know which role you are up for and EVERYONE NEEDS TO PLAN TO ATTEND!!!!!!

 

It will be Friday night and Saturday all day.

One last thing about this event. It is going to cost around $3000 and I have said that I will cover the ENTIRE cost as my gift to the church and area, however, if you feel led to help sponsor this event, then please let me know. We are opening it up soon to all the area churches and once we do, it is going to go through the roof. So, please jump in. I am already getting calls and emails.

 

I just had no idea what we were about to get into…

The Hidden Power of ABIDE | Oswald Chambers

Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do . . . -John 14:13

Am I fulfilling this ministry of intercession deep within the hidden recesses of my life? There is no trap nor any danger at all of being deceived or of showing pride in true intercession. It is a hidden ministry that brings forth fruit through which the Father is glorified. Am I allowing my spiritual life to waste away, or am I focused, bringing everything to one central point- the atonement of my Lord? Is Jesus Christ more and more dominating every interest of my life? If the central point, or the most powerful influence, of my life is the atonement of the Lord, then every aspect of my life will bear fruit for Him.

However, I must take the time to realize what this central point of power is. Am I willing to give one minute out of every hour to concentrate on it? "If you abide in Me . . . "- that is, if you continue to act, and think, and work from that central point- "you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you" (John 15:7). Am I abiding? Am I taking the time to abide? What is the greatest source of power in my life? Is it my work, service, and sacrifice for others, or is it my striving to work for God? It should be none of these- what ought to exert the greatest power in my life is the atonement of the Lord. It is not on what we spend the greatest amount of time that molds us the most, but whatever exerts the most power over us. We must make a determination to limit and concentrate our desires and interests on the atonement by the Cross of Christ.

"Whatever you ask in My name, that I will do . . . ." The disciple who abides in Jesus is the will of God, and what appears to be his free choices are actually God's foreordained decrees. Is this mysterious? Does it appear to contradict sound logic or seem totally absurd? Yes, but what a glorious truth it is to a saint of God.
