Empowered Evangelism Conference with Robby Dawkins
That's right. He is coming to the Tapestry and will be doing a conference with us the weekend of August 12-14, 2011. We still have not selected the date, however, things are heating up. So, if you are planning on coming, you need to RSVP ASAP. Email Lori at lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org and if you want to help with some of the conference experience, email her as well and ask, "How can I help…" We are now expecting possibly 200 people or more, so knowing if you are going to be a part is IMPORTANT since we need to arrange for space. It wills start Friday night at 7pm and will be all day Saturday with Robby being at the Tapestry Sunday morning.

Prayer and counseling ministry
If you need special prayer or ministry and you can't be at church on Sunday to have our prayer team pray for you on the spot, you can email letuspray@tapestrychurch.org.
If you need further counseling, deliverance or prophetic ministry, please simply let Lori know, lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org so we can schedule a time to meet with you

Kiddos' volunteers needed
We are splitting our one kiddos class into 3! Our very patient 8 year old is tired of hanging out with the 3 year olds and our babies are starting to discover their voices! To pull this off right each Sunday we need 2 people to help with the babies. 2 people to help with our 2-5 year olds and 1 person to help with the 6-10 year olds. Please see the sign up sheet in the hall and/or email lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org

Help needed!
Kevin and Jen Sorrentino are asking for your skills, strength and time. They are preparing to become a foster parents to Jen's niece and nephew. In order to be able house everyone comfortably, they need to work on their basement and they would welcome your help. Building the Greeting, Welcoming and Follow up ministry.
Are you interested in making people smile? Do you like giving things away? Do you enjoy praying for people when they don't even know it? And do you love our church and want to increase the atmosphere? Well then, you are EXACTLY who we want to talk to for welcome/greeting ministry training. And yes, it is an EASY MINISTRY!!!!! If you love the heartbeat of Starbucks' atmosphere and experience, then you are the right person for this ministry. Born to missionary parents in Japan, Robby had an early start in ministry. In his father's church he began a children's ministry at the age of 12, and became the youth minister at 16 years old. Robby says, "I knew from a young age that God had called me into ministry. My parents say that from the age of 2, I told people that I would grow up and be a missionary." In many ways that has been the case in Robby's life.

Robby and his wife, Angie, married in 1992, have pastored the Vineyard Church of Aurora, IL since 1996. They feel God called them to plant in a poor urban community, and continually use "power evangelism" to gather for the church. They estimate that over 50% of current attenders have come to Christ at the Vineyard Aurora, and that almost ¾ of those have come through "power" encounters.

"In addition to starting and pastoring this church, God has called me for the purpose of building up and equipping the local church with power tools for harvesting," Robby shares. These "power tools" are prophetic ministry, healing, ministry of the presence of God, and deliverance from demonic power. Robby loves to tell literally hundreds of stories of his personal experiences, which include God using him and others he has mentored through the years to see God's Kingdom "break in" with signs and wonders.

Having been in over 30 countries around the world, God has used him to help build the church internationally as well. He has ministered in many Muslim countries and in 2 of the top 10 most dangerous countries according to Voice of the Martyrs magazine.

Tapestry Tuesday Trainings | the Dates | “Equipping the Saints”

Hey Guys,

Tapestry Tuesday Trainings are coming up!!!!!! Just like I told you earlier, this is a part of our new “Equipping the Saints” ministry. We will have the following training classes through the summer and I would like you to reserve your time and plan to be there!

Please email Lori at lorihedrick@tapestrychurch.org and let her know if you are coming. I am going to limit each class to no more than 12 people. Since the space is limited, you need to let us know QUICKLY if you plan to attend. I will most likely keep a wait list and have more sessions on more dates if there is interest. However, in the interest of being the best for the space and the relationships, we will keep these to a certain size.

So, here they are:

Personal Finance – Tuesday June 21, & Tuesday 28 (This is a two week commitment)

And it is for three items:

1 – Budgeting

2 – Debt Management & Personal Financial Profiles

3 – The Biblical approach to stewardship

(This is only a primer for something we plan to do larger during the Fall 2011)

Worship – Tuesday July 12

It is for three areas:

1 – Planning,

2 – Spiritual Prep

3 – and Skills of Worship

(I would appreciate at the least my worship leaders signing up for this one and if you cannot make this one, I need you to make a later one. It is not just training, it is more round table and artisan craft sharing).

Welcome, Greeting and Follow-up – Tuesday July 26

If you want to be a part of the Tapestry’s team to greet, welcome and follow-up with our wonderful visitors, come out to this training. We are stepping it up as we look to better our ways and means of creating Newcomer family fusion!

ANNIVERSARY GIFTS

Hey Guys,

PLEASE DO NOT FORGET to pick up the new welcome bag from the church even if you are not new!!!!! The reason why is because we have redone the whole thing with a Tapestry Worship CD, an awesome Tapestry DVD and more. All of this is made for you and for you to be encouraged.

So, over the next weeks as you are back at the church, PICK ONE UP FOR YOU!

Traveling Into the ACTIVAT3 Conference

Greetings to all who will be joining us for the ACTIVAT3 Conference & Evangelism training in August 12th and 13^th hosted by the Tapestry Vineyard Church.

Thank you for your interest in this event and we are looking forward to an awesome time with Robby Dawkins and the many different churches that are coming for this event.

The Conference is being held at Chevy Chase Baptist Church at 5671 Western Ave, NW in Washington DC, 20015. Entrance to the registration area and sanctuary is through the main doors on Western Ave, and doors open at 6:30pm Friday evening. The session Friday night begins at 7pm. Saturday begins at 10am.

We want to give you some information about parking around the church. Free parking is available on the main streets and side streets, just pay attention to the signage indicating any restricted hours or days. Please note that some streets are one-way (direction indicated by blue arrows and smaller light grey arrows), and parking is NOT allowed on Western Ave. from 4pm-6:30pm on Friday. That is rush hour and if you park there before 6:30pm on Friday you may be towed. After 6:30pm on Friday and all day Saturday, you may parking on Western.

The Easiest Way to Travel Into the Area is by Metro. You can park at any of the Twinbrook, White Flint, Grosvenor, or Glenmont stations where they have parking for $5. However, you MUST get an actual “SmartTrip” Metro Card in order to get out of the parking area and you must USE the SmartTrip card to ride the metro to get the $5 rate. Walk approx. 5 blocks NE on Western Ave.

If you decide to arrive early and have dinner, there are a number of restaurants along Connecticut Ave noted on the map and there are additional places (a diner, Subway, Bread and Chocolate, Pumpernickles Deli, etc.) not seen on the map. It’s a very safe area and a nice walk from the church. This is also where we recommend you go for lunch on Saturday.
