Is This What You Are Looking For?

A New Kind of Spiritual Renewal-Revival

What ever happened to Revival and awakening? Is it dead in this new day and time? What would it look like? Would it have the style of the First, Second or the Worldwide Awakenings? Will it even look like the Renewals and Awakenings of the 1990’s? Should it? Who knows? But what we do know is that:

It’s called Visitation. It happens when the Spirit of God sovreignly chooses to come and be in the midst of His people. It’s much different from the normal movement of the Spirit of God in the church. It’s the Presence of God.

prayer this morning

this is a test
______________________

I was crying out to the Lord for a number of situations and He led me to read Joel 2….. my sense is the battle is going to be intensifying (for some of us it’s already raging) BUT HE IS GOING TO RESTORE ALL THAT THE LOCUST HAS EATEN…. HE’LL BE SENDING THE GRAIN, THE NEW WINE AND OIL….. That’s the bottom line and what we need to hang on to……..

The cool thing is I believe he is about to pour out his Spirit in a BIG way again, with signs and wonders following..  We sure need it, the world needs it.

BE EXPECTANT!!!!

Traveling Into the ACTIVAT3 Conference

Greetings to all who will be joining us for the ACTIVAT3 Conference & Evangelism training in August 12th and 13th hosted by the Tapestry Vineyard Church.

Thank you for your interest in this event and we are looking forward to an awesome time with Robby Dawkins and the many different churches that are coming for this event.

The Conference is being held at Chevy Chase Baptist Church at 5671 Western Ave, NW in Washington DC, 20015.  Entrance to the registration area and sanctuary is through the main doors on Western Ave, and doors open at 6:30pm Friday evening.  The session Friday night begins at 7pm. Saturday begins at 10am.

We want to give you some information about parking around the church.  Free parking is available on the main streets and side streets, just pay attention to the signage indicating any restricted hours or days.  Please note that some streets are one-way (direction indicated by blue arrows and smaller light grey arrows), and parking is NOT allowed on Western Ave. from 4pm-6:30pm on Friday.  That is rush hour and if you park there before 6:30pm on Friday you may be towed.  After 6:30pm on Friday and all day Saturday, you may parking on Western.

Google Map of Area: http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl

The Easiest Way to Travel Into the Area is by Metro. You can park at any of the Twinbrook, White Flint, Grosvenor, or Glenmont stations where they have parking for $5. However, you MUST get an actual “SmartTrip” Metro Card in order to get out of the parking area and you must USE the SmartTrip card to ride the metro to get the $5 rate. The card info is here: http://www.wmata.com/fares/smartrip/

You can get SmartTrip at ANY of the stations that have parking areas and you should get it before you get onto the metro.

You can use the TripPlanner online to actually plot out your metro adventure here: http://www.wmata.com/rider_tools/tripplanner/tripplanner.cfm

The TripPlanner Output for Saturday at 9:00am looks like this:

[ Traveling from WHITE FLINT M to 5671 WESTERN AVE NW on 8/13/2011 ] >> Rail: Departs from WHITE FLINT METRO STATION at 9:17AM>> Take RED LINE Rail towards GLENMONT METRO >> Arrive : FRIENDSHIP HEIGHTS METRO STATION at 9:27AM>> Walk : 0.53 mile NE to 5671 WESTERN AVE NW >> SMARTRIP FARE: (Senior/Disabled/Medicare): $ 1.60 ($ 1.45) >> CASH FARE: (Senior/Disabled/Medicare): $ 1.85 ($ 1.55)

Walking from FRIENDSHIP HEIGHTS METRO STATION to 5671 WESTERN AVE NW

Exit station using WISCONSIN AVE & WESTERN AVE NW exit

Walk approx. 5 blocks NE on Western Ave.

And here is the walking map:

If you decide to arrive early and have dinner, there are a number of restaurants along Connecticut Ave noted on the map and there are additional places (a diner, Subway, Bread and Chocolate, Pumpernickles Deli, etc.) not seen on the map.  It’s a very safe area and a nice walk from the church.  This is also where we recommend you go for lunch on Saturday.

We pray travelling mercies for all that are coming, and are excited about all that the Lord is going to do.

Many Blessings

The Will of GOD | Oswald Chambers

Peter . . . said to Jesus, 'But Lord, what about this man?' Jesus said to him, '. . . what is that to you? You follow Me' -John 21:21-22

One of the hardest lessons to learn comes from our stubborn refusal to refrain from interfering in other people's lives. It takes a long time to realize the danger of being an amateur providence, that is, interfering with God's plan for others. You see someone suffering and say, "He will not suffer, and I will make sure that he doesn't." You put your hand right in front of God's permissive will to stop it, and then God says, "What is that to you?" Is there stagnation in your spiritual life? Don't allow it to continue, but get into God's presence and find out the reason for it. You will possibly find it is because you have been interfering in the life of another- proposing things you had no right to propose, or advising when you had no right to advise. When you do have to give advice to another person, God will advise through you with the direct understanding of His Spirit. Your part is to maintain the right relationship with God so that His discernment can come through you continually for the purpose of blessing someone else.

Most of us live only within the level of consciousness- consciously serving and consciously devoted to God. This shows immaturity and the fact that we're not yet living the real Christian life. Maturity is produced in the life of a child of God on the unconscious level, until we become so totally surrendered to God that we are not even aware of being used by Him. When we are consciously aware of being used as broken bread and poured-out wine, we have yet another level to reach- a level where all awareness of ourselves and of what God is doing through us is completely eliminated. A saint is never consciously a saint- a saint is consciously dependent on God.
