Is This What You Are Looking For?

“Do A Little Good”

Do a little good with your holiday shopping this year by purchasing gifts that give back and do good. First Alliance Church (14500 New Hampshire Ave) is hosting a Holiday Shopping Event on November 9th offering products that are made by women in poverty or by women who have been/would otherwise be trafficked, etc.  A very easy way to make gift purchasing choices that directly bless, benefit, and provide for women in need.  www.doalittlegood.com

Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan's Purse is collecting shoe boxes filled with goodies for hurting children all across the world. A shoebox filled with small toys, hygiene items and school supplies tangibly demonstrates God's love to a child in need. Melissa Baird has more information if you have any questions. November 17th is the last day you can bring a box to Tapestry. Look on the Connect Table in the lobby for a packing guide or you can go to www.samaritanspurse.org

Juvenile Detention Center

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound. “When you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me.” Come on out to the Children’s Noyes Detention Center in Rockville on the 1st and 3rd Saturday from 3:30-5:00pm.  Very low effort; Great return!  Contact: adrienne.layton@verizon.net

Operation Halloween with Chili Cook-Off

We are having our annual chili cook-off with candy bag preparation after church on Sunday, the 27th of October.
While out shopping, please consider
bringing in some bulk candy (soft candy preferred over hard candy) to church over the next couple of Sundays. We will spend time after church having chili, awarding a chili champion for the year, and stuffing zip-lock baggies full of candy.
Contact Jake at
jcschans@hotmail.com or

240-286-1926 if you have questions or would like to get more involved with planning.
