Submit your website to 20+ Search Engines at once!

This neat little tool can really help your traffic and will automate your website submission to quite a few search engines including Google. My encouragement is to use this, but not until you have optimized your meta tags, made your site robot friendly with the robot.txt generator and made sure that your site has some really quality information.

Alexa Sparky Firefox Plugin

This is one of my favorite addon/plugins for Firefox. I have about six plugins and buttons that totally synergize my online work. This one is able to keep up with statistics of my web travels. The reason this is important is that if you are an SEO nut and want to create a better trend for your site, you need to do three things: 1. Work it. 2. Share it. and 3. Browse it. This helps you do the third thing.

Just take a moment every day to browse three to five of your pages while you have Sparky running. The trends are reported back to Alexa and your ratings are increased. The same thing needs to happen every day and all your friends need to help by downloading the bar as well so that their time spent on your site will also increase that rating.

About to get things setup.

I have been working on the details. And now the site is almost complete. This site is about to offer podcasts and much more from my life. I am turning this site into the account and dairies of my life. It seems that now is the time to bring out the stories and adventures that have formed my life and steered me the direction I have gone. GOD has been there all along and it seems that everything had and has a purpose.

 There are many different ways to submit your site in the top Search Engines. The main search engines you would want to definitely be listed in are:

Google | Yahoo! |  Lycos | AOL | Ask | Excite | MSN | Altavista | Overture.

Or you could go for a software solution. This is going to cost a bit more, however, you need to know ahead of time that your automated solutions won’t help when it comes to adding your site to dmoz. This directory requires you to add your site manually.

And one more note before I leave you to jump in to promoting your site. Don’t OVER PROMOTE! If you are using Addme.com, don’t do it more than once a month. If you do it more often than every 30 days, you will hurt your listing.

One more great link that is just a bit different, however it could help you get your blog posts listed, try: pingoat. This site can ping all the major engines that would list your blog. My ONLY encouragement is that you should only ping your blog when you’ve added new content.

12-11-2007 Search Engines, Meta Tags and a Generator

I have found that more and more, search engines are using meta data to cull sites or raise their rankings. I am going back through my sites and attempting to do cleanup work on all my meta data. Now, WordPress is pretty good about automatically updating meta tags and such, however there are some plugins that you can use which actually even clean that process up.

Two of them are:

All in One SEO Pack (http://wp.uberdose.com/2007/03/24/all-in-one-seo-pack/)

However, for you guys who are out there doing the die-hard html site and want to make sure your site is getting the proper attention, here is a generator that might help. I actually got it from SEO Watch and they allow anyone to add it to their site for free. I have it here as a resource for our guys!
