Is This What You Are Looking For?

Hope, Joy, Thankfulness and The Only’s

A week or two ago pd talked about Hope, Joy and Thankfulness.  He
spoke plainly and powerfully on the subject so if you missed it you
need to get on the podcast and listen to it.  But as I prayed over the
topic I recalled a simple obstacle to being hopeful, thankful and
joyful.  It is a great obstacle but it is also a great tool that helps
me LIVE now, and not just survive.
I call them "The Only's."
They sound something like this.  "If only i could get that new job…"
or "If only i could keep the house clean…"  "If only I could get an
extra hour of sleep at night…"  (Can you tell I have a newborn?)
then life would be better.  The Only's take away our hope in Christ
because all of a sudden we are hoping for something on this earth and
turn it into an idol.  Our ACTIONS stop proclaiming "Come Lord  Jesus"
and start begging "Come new Job!"  I know because I've been there.
And let me tell you that as long as I'm waiting for something on this
earth to happen and make me happy, then I will not be.  And I
seriously doubt anyone reading this will be either.  I mean, you know
what scripture says about idols right?

Those who pour out their bags of gold and weigh out silver on scales-
they hire a goldsmith and he makes it into a god.  Then they kneel and
bow down to it.  They lift it to their shoulder and bear it along;
they set it in its place, and there it stands;  it does not budge from
its place.  They cry out to it but it doesn't answer;  it saves no one
from his trouble. (Isaiah 46:6-7 HCSB)

If you think about it, if you wait for your "If Only's" to make you
happy, you're going to be waiting a long time.  "[they do] not budge
from [their] place…[they] save no one from his trouble."
The great thing about the "If Only's" though, is that you can't miss
them.  This is not a hidden sin or something you can deny to yourself.
An addict can deny his or her addiction, and we can shrug off sin as
"unimportant" or "harmless" but this one stares us right in the face
and we KNOW we're miserable.  There is no way to deny this fact which
means that it is that much easier to confront.  It is that much easier
to take it apart and say
"No, not then.  I'm not going to wait for the day when XYZ falls into
place for TODAY is the day the LORD has made.  I WILL rejoice and be
glad in it." (cf Ps118)
So what are you waiting for? Rejoice.  Today is the day the Lord has
made for you. Not tomorrow.  Today.
And tomorrow you can say "today is the day the lord has made for me."
And the day after.
And the day after.

Hi Everyone,

Occupy Earth / Occupy Hell NOW

The occupy movement…
The other 1%
– I am a part of a remnant
– my citizenship is based on another Kingdom

– My identity is found what Jesus said HIS purpose statement was (John 20:21)

HE said:

I have not come to…
1- call the righteous but sinners
2- John 6:38 – not to do his will, but the will of the one who sent him…
3- Matthew 20:28 & Mark 10:45 – He came not to be served but to serve

I have come to…
1- seek and save that which was lost, save the Lost sheep Matt 18:11
2- give life and life more abundantly
3- He only does what His Father is doing
4- John 18:37 – He came for the cross
5- eating and drinking… (the opposite of the fasting ones and super pious)
6- to fulfill the Law
7- to defeat death
8- to show the Father to us
9- destroy the works of the devil

Let's not forget my favorite:
10- to fulfill Isaiah – Heaven at hand

********story of 3 year old staying alive on leftovers after mom pcrudes*****

There's something theologically we need to get down pat. Many have asked why does GOD do bad things or why does HE allow them. The question needs to be reframed. The new questions are: "what were we made for…." and "…who chose to leave that perfect garden of relationship…" and lastly, "who then caused Hell on earth?" Satan did and we did. Hell on earth is the result of Satan's usurpation and our decision. However, heaven is MAD! Heaven is ticked and heaven is aggressing now. Jesus coming and invading fallen earth was the beginning of an invasion. Heaven is striking back!

GOD is mad at what is happening to HIS kids. GOD is now occupying earth. GOD has come to occupy Hell's territory.

**********Steve Jobs statements about destroying Android*********

I literally want to go right up into the middle of the worst part of Hell on this earth and the toughest places and the toughest situations and Occupy that little bit of Hell on earth and BRING IT DOWN! I want to Boycott Hell. I want to defeat Satan soundly in this generation, in this city, in this nation, in every family, in each house, and school and workplace and nation. I want Hell to PAY for what it has done! Jesus HATES the Kingdom of Hell! He wants HIS kids back!

How do we do it?

-fight consumerism and personal capitalism -fight clcrudism, And ageism.
-fight all segregation
-fight Through compcrudion, love and hope -live simply -live spiritually as a daily worshiper -fight complacency -be intimate with GOD and loving people -hunger for Jesus and living for the same things Jesus lived for above -recognize our authority -stand as a witness -celebrate and show hope

Can you imagine what heaven's gonna be like? Can you imagine what it's gonna be like when we are all there and the whole thing has shifted and the fights and battles and sicknesses and loss and torment and troubles and trials are no more?

Can you imagine what it will be like? It's gonna be exciting, it's gonna be triumph, it's gonna be a ruckuss like the kind we've never seen before. "We made it, it's over, we are free…"

That's what it's gonna be like…

*************Show clip of Jason McElway…

What if we could have it now? We can have it now… Jesus said Heaven is among us within arms distance. That heaven is inside us now and that we can pray that the full Kingdom reign, the full display of heaven, the full demonstration and power of heaven can be asked for and prayed for and can come when HIS people are in one accord and He is in the midst of them…

It's time to occupy Hell! It's time to go right up in hell's territory and do everything Hell hates. It's time to bring it. Heaven is AT HAND!!!!!!!

Psalm 30

We must celebrate. Heaven has come!

Did you feel the mountains tremble?
Did you hear the oceans roar?
When the people rose to sing of
Jesus Christ, the risen one

Did you feel the people tremble?
Did you hear the singers roar?
When the lost began to sing of
Jesus Christ, the saving one

And we can see that God you're moving
A mighty river through the nations
And young and old will turn to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen one

Open up the doors and let the music play Let the streets resound with singin'
Songs that bring Your hope and
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Do you feel the darkness tremble
When all the saints join in one song?
And all the streams flow as one river
To wash away our brokenness

And here we see that God, you're moving
A time of jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord

Open up the doors and let the music play Let the streets resound with singin'
Songs that bring Your hope and
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

And we can see that God, you're moving
A time of jubilee is coming
When young and old return to Jesus
Fling wide you heavenly gates
Prepare the way of the risen Lord, yeah, yeah

Open up the doors and let the music play And let the streets resound with singin'
Songs that bring Your hope and
Songs that bring Your joy
Dancers who dance upon injustice

Open up the doors and let the music play And let the streets resound with singin'

The Will of GOD | Oswald Chambers

Peter . . . said to Jesus, 'But Lord, what about this man?' Jesus said to him, '. . . what is that to you? You follow Me' -John 21:21-22

One of the hardest lessons to learn comes from our stubborn refusal to refrain from interfering in other people's lives. It takes a long time to realize the danger of being an amateur providence, that is, interfering with God's plan for others. You see someone suffering and say, "He will not suffer, and I will make sure that he doesn't." You put your hand right in front of God's permissive will to stop it, and then God says, "What is that to you?" Is there stagnation in your spiritual life? Don't allow it to continue, but get into God's presence and find out the reason for it. You will possibly find it is because you have been interfering in the life of another- proposing things you had no right to propose, or advising when you had no right to advise. When you do have to give advice to another person, God will advise through you with the direct understanding of His Spirit. Your part is to maintain the right relationship with God so that His discernment can come through you continually for the purpose of blessing someone else.

Most of us live only within the level of consciousness- consciously serving and consciously devoted to God. This shows immaturity and the fact that we're not yet living the real Christian life. Maturity is produced in the life of a child of God on the unconscious level, until we become so totally surrendered to God that we are not even aware of being used by Him. When we are consciously aware of being used as broken bread and poured-out wine, we have yet another level to reach- a level where all awareness of ourselves and of what God is doing through us is completely eliminated. A saint is never consciously a saint- a saint is consciously dependent on God.

The Trial of Faith | Oswald Chambers

If you have faith as a mustard seed . . . nothing will be impossible for you -Matthew 17:20

We have the idea that God rewards us for our faith, and it may be so in the initial stages. But we do not earn anything through faith- faith brings us into the right relationship with God and gives Him His opportunity to work. Yet God frequently has to knock the bottom out of your experience as His saint to get you in direct contact with Himself. God wants you to understand that it is a life of faith, not a life of emotional enjoyment of His blessings. The beginning of your life of faith was very narrow and intense, centered around a small amount of experience that had as much emotion as faith in it, and it was full of light and sweetness. Then God withdrew His conscious blessings to teach you to "walk by faith" (2 Corinthians 5:7). And you are worth much more to Him now than you were in your days of conscious delight with your thrilling testimony.

Faith by its very nature must be tested and tried. And the real trial of faith is not that we find it difficult to trust God, but that God's character must be proven as trustworthy in our own minds. Faith being worked out into reality must experience times of unbroken isolation. Never confuse the trial of faith with the ordinary discipline of life, because a great deal of what we call the trial of faith is the inevitable result of being alive. Faith, as the Bible teaches it, is faith in God coming against everything that contradicts Him- a faith that says, "I will remain true to God's character whatever He may do." The highest and the greatest expression of faith in the whole Bible is- "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" (Job 13:15).

THE THRIVE SERIES | NOW ONLINE!

The Thrive Series is online and up to date!

I have been so very encouraged by the number of people that have wanted this series of talks from the Tapestry. It has been an amazing thing to watch weekly as GOD has done so many amazing things among us. I have watched as people have gone from broken to blessed. We have truly seen GOD's reviving power among us. Now, we cannot ever attribute HIS moving to anything as small as a sermon series, however, this community during this series of talks has come together in unity and drawn HEAVEN, GOD's Presence, the very Holy Spirit of GOD into our midst.

So, it's online and here is a quick cheat sheet of the page at the Tapestry website here: http://tapestrychurch.com/?page_id=1102

It's also in the Tapestry Android and iPhone Apps: http://app.tapestrylife.org

THE THRIVE SERIES

The Tapestry longs to see everyone that comes into contact with this community blessed. We hope that we are always made "better for being together." This series focuses on the fact that in this current climate in America, the conversations and the perspectives have become darkened by bad news from the media, destruction of personal wealth by financial firms, breaking up of families by a raging wild culture and a shaking to the very core of Government. In this time, instead of focusing on the negatives in our current reality, we have decided to instead invest ourselves in deepening the culture of blessing, encouragement, vision, unity and hope.

Hope is not in a government or even a Government official, but in only ONE!

So, don't just survive. LISTEN AND BEGIN TO THRIVE!
