Facebook, Flickr, or Picasa Photo Sets

Hey Guys,

 

If you have any photo sets of the church events over the years from Facebook, Flickr, or Picasa and you have never shared them directly with me, please email me and let me know. I am scouting ALL pictures and videos of the Tapestry over the years and your sharing will help us build our brand new website’s online scrapbook area.

 

So, email me and simply tell me whether you have some or not and on what social network you have them stored. I will do the rest.

 

Trust me, you want to be a part of this.

 

PS, if you have not already done a video for the Tapestry’s 7th year anniversary telling your story, DO IT NOW!

 

The rules are:

1 – You video yourself with your phone camera or another easy way.

2 – You email the video, a link to the posting on Youtube OR give me a disk with it on it.

3 – The video consists of YOUR STORY about the Tapestry. It can be about:

                A – Your finding the Tapestry.

                B – The experience that meant the most to you at the Tapestry.

                C – A life changing experience you had with the Tapestry.

                D – A story about someone that affected you in the Tapestry community.

 

It does not matter if you are currently with the Tapestry or if you have moved to another area. We want ALL OUR stories to be shared. These stories will be shared among our community and are totally a blessing to all!!!!!

Saturday Morning Outreach
Saturday mornings at 8 AM we meet at the Giant parking lot in Aspen Hill
off Connecticut Avenue just before Georgia Avenue. It is LOW COST, HIGH
RETURN outreach ministry. You will be blessed. We simply buy food and feed
day workers in front of the 7-11 and the Home Depot there and pray for
their needs and talk with them. Come join us!

Please Pray for Norway…

I did not mention it this weekend at the service, however, let us PLEASE PRAY for Norway. This atrocious act against primarily young people is not just horrible in its happening, but it breaks my heart for the sheer cold, calculated way this “Breivik” monster acted. It seems that always as GOD begins a move to bring people back to HIMSELF, the enemies of all that is good rear their ugly heads. We live in a time and era where morals are twisted and/or lost mostly in the name of “good.”

 

It is even more important now than ever that we as believers cling to and show the LIGHT OF JESUS to the world. So, let us pray.

let’s pray for:

1 – those that have lost loved ones

2 – for a nation that is grieving

3 – for GOD to help us to be salt and light at this time of great uncertainty both there in Norway and around the world

4 – for a softening of people’s hearts especially extremists from every background and culture

5 – for peace and unity

6 – and lastly for GOD to somehow get glory instead of all the focus being on this atrocity

 

Whatever you do, as a joint citizen of the earth right now, allow yourself some compassion and pray for these as if it were your own child that was lost. My heart aches today.

New Sermon Series | THRIVE | GOD Wants You Blessed!

Hey Everyone,
I just wanted you to know and to share with you that if you are able to be here starting this week, I am changing up my series and moving to what GOD has been talking to me about during the week. He is instructing me to teach on “Blessings.”
So, I encourage you to take part. It will be 7 weeks, which seems rather short after 21 weeks of Tapestr Vineyard Genetic Code teaching. If you miss one of the weeks, we will again put them up on our podcast and in the Tapestry app.
Our website will be changing by the end of July, so I will send you links to get to the podcast when they are up and will make sure you are in the loop. And as far as the website, it is based on the site that won the most votes back earlier this year. It has taken a lot of work, about 400 or more hours.
So, it comes to you with all the bells and whistles you could want.
And this sermon series comes with the Father’s Blessing. I just need you to already be meditating on the fact that POPPA WANTS YOU TO BE BLESSED!
HE WANTS YOU TO THRIVE!
Whether you believe it or not, this is the TRUTH! And Truth is a person. He is living. He is JESUS!

Hey Guys,

I will be sending a more formal Thread email later about a topic that Devin has encouraged me to review. It will be about “De-Teching” & being a physical minimalist in order to be a spiritual giant.

But, before I send that, I came across this message by Henry Blackaby and wanted to send it today. I wanted to remind us to every time we read Scripture, stop and ask Poppa to speak to us. Every time we hear a sermon, ask Poppa to speak to us personally about it. And I mean, literally stopping before we listen, read or whatever and say, “Poppa, please speak to me and apply this to my life…”

And then just during the listening or reading, literally focusing in and asking yourself over and over during the exercise, “How does this apply to me?”

If we do that and then journal our results, I think we would be amazed to see what Poppa speaks. We can even do this with news, current events and/or experiences in our day to day lives. For instance, “Jesus, what are you doing in Haiti right now and how can I help You?”

You get it? I mean, you may not always find relevance, but at least you can keep the conversation with God the Father, Jesus and Spirit open and available. It may help you even make better sense out of the challenges and trials in life. And you know, I have found it is fun to connect the dots. It’s like life is a huge puzzle and I am always trying to put the pieces together. I mean, the truth is that EVERYTHING has a purpose. I just have to see what that purpose is and maximize the potential.

The Penetrating Word of God

Day-by-Day

For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Heb 4:12)

Does God’s word ever cause you discomfort? When you read the Bible does what you read make you uneasy? Do you find when you listen to sermons, that the Scripture seems aimed directly at you? You are experiencing the reality that the word of God is alive and can read your thoughts and judge your intentions.

When God’s word speaks to you it is always for a purpose. God knows your heart and knows what you need to do to bring your life into conformity to Christ. If you have a problem with sinful talk, the word that comes to you will address the tongue. If you are struggling to forgive, God’s word will confront you with His standard for forgiveness. If pride has a stronghold in your life, God’s word will speak to you about humility. Whatever sin needs addressing, you will find you are confronted by God’s word on the matter.

One way you can escape the discomfort of conviction is to avoid hearing God speak to you. You may neglect reading your Bible and stay away from places where it is taught. You may avoid those whom you know will uphold the truths of Scripture. The best response, however, is to pray as the psalmist did: “Search me, O God, and know my heart” (Ps. 139:23). Regularly allow the word of God to wash over you and find any sin or impurity (Eph. 5:26). Always make the connection between your life and what God is saying to you through His word. Make a habit of taking every word from God seriously, knowing that it is able to judge your heart and mind.
